Get ready some hair clips or rubber bands to section and secure your hair so you have a neater setting to work with. For beginners, you may want to first practise the hand movements without switching on your straightener.
VERTICAL FORWARD WAVE
For the bottom half of your hair near your face, we want to use this section to frame your face and have a slimming effect. Gather around two-inch sections and hold your straightener in a vertical position. Compress lightly, twist the straightener forward and run it through the length of your hair. The next section behind this should be curled backwards so as to create natural-looking varied waves. Alternate between forward and backward twists until you reach the middle back of your head. Repeat the same on the other side of your face.
